Pro’s Tip

“Play your tee shot on a line just left of the fairway bunker. The approach shot is uphill and best to play right of the flag to allow for the right to left slope of the green and to avoid the bunker on the left of the green.”

Hole Description

This has remained as the test set out by Tom Simpson in the 1930s, the raised green and array of bunkers offering a flavour of the character of the course. It features the toughest green on the course, the putting surface sloping from back to front and from right to left with a good few humps and bumps in between. A fairway bunker was added in 2016 making accuracy off the tee essential.
