“Welcoming Clubhouse, great golf course with many testing holes, Greens were of the highest standard, excellent course”
Graham Woodbridge June 2022
“On behalf of the President of EVGC and the 59 members who supported his visit yesterday to Lindrick Golf Club. May I say how much we all enjoyed the occasion and how particularly impressed we were with, the warmth of the welcome we received upon arrival, the quality of your fabulous golf course and the wonderful food provided by your chef & his team, a real delight. Last and by no means last the clubhouse staff, they really were excellent, and nothing was too much trouble. Overall, an exemplary team doing a great job promoting a golf club which represents all that is good in golf and life in an eminently successful manner, long may it continue. Very nearly forgot, John and his staff, as always, they were brilliant. Could you please convey my comments to the powers that be, as a mark of respect from 60 admirers. We look forward to the next time.”
“Our society day had been previously postponed in March due to snow, so we really appreciated being able to reschedule & for you to hold the original pricing. Breakfast in the Ryder Cup room was plentiful & very tasty, the course was in excellent condition (especially given the recent wet weather), & drinks afterwards very enjoyable. We are a very small society, but everybody playing had Lindrick still on their bucket list & thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of playing the course. We are looking to return next year.”
“The whole day was thoroughly enjoyable. Booking was handled very efficiently and Catering were most helpful. Pro Shop and Club Staff always make us feel very welcome. This is our 11/12th annual visit to Lindrick. We are primary a winter golf society, we use Lindrick as the premier event for the close of our winter season. It would be remiss not to mention the quality of the course and the experience of playing a fine challenging venue. Express our gratitude to your Course Manager and Staff who are doing such a fine job. All who played were extremely complimentary of the course. It’s condition, features, tidiness, etc. Comments even included such points as the pathways, which had obviously been redressed prior to the season. It is amazing how detail gets noticed.”
“The Standard and presentation of the course for play and the Pro shop and Clubhouse, in which we were made welcome and assisted perfectly. Nothing could have made it better for us thanks. If we come back this way as a group, we will definitely look to try to play at Lindrick again.”
“The Greens were excellent!! This was our second visit to Lindrick and it was the same excellent day as the previous. From the minute we arrived to the minute- Spartan Golf Society 6th April 2018 we left we were made welcome by all”
“Lindrick was superb from start to finish. Can’t wait to come back.”
“The course was in fantastic condition and the changes helped make it even better. Thank you to all the staff who were very welcoming.”
“I would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to play your course, we had a fantastic day, please pass on our thanks to your greenkeeping staff for the excellent condition of the course after the recent spell of rain. Please also thank your caterers as we had a meal after playing golf and the food and service were second to none.Your pro shop staff were also very helpful and friendly, very important when meeting guests so thanks again for a very enjoyable day out.”
“Lindrick is the best course I have played all year and I play a lot of competitive golf. The course was immaculate and the greens were very quick, almost too quick!”
“May I thank you for your kind invitation to enjoy the wonderful experience of playing golf at the famous Lindrick golf club. The course was in excellent condition and the clubhouse facilities of a very high standard. Unfortunately I could not raise my game on the day to qualify for the next round of your competition. Your hospitality was superb, your staff very welcoming and I will cherish this day as one of the highlights of my golfing outings.”
“I played at Lindrick in the Open competition for the first time and I would just like to pass on my thanks, from the welcome we got from checking in, the caterers/barstaff before we went out and our meal afterwards, nothing was too much trouble. Everything seemed so well organised and a ready smile. As for the course, wonderful, so please pass on my thanks to the green staff, and the half way house, I was ready for a cup of tea. I am looking forward to coming back soon, but the only thing you let us down with was the weather, but that beats us all at times.”
“I played in the Seniors open yesterday & have done for several years & I thought the course was the best I have ever seen it. The catering & staff all spot on so thanks to all.”
“The Corporate Classic was a top class event, I wouldn’t change a thing. The course was fantastic, great food and wine and the format for the competition was spot on. I have to give the event 10/10.”
“Three friends and myself from Notts Golf Club visited Lindrick and had a most enjoyable afternoon. The course, as usual, was in magnificent condition. The professional and bar staff were most helpful and efficient. If you could pass on our thanks to all concerned we would be most grateful. Once again, many thanks“
“Just a quick line to say how very much my three friends and I appreciated our day as visitors to Lindrick last Wednesday. The course was in outstanding condition, my colleagues who hadn’t played there before were tremendously impressed by its beauty and challenge – and all of us commented on the warmth of the welcome we received in the assistant professional, from the staff who served us lunch and from the other members we met that day as we chatted on the first tee before teeing off. Thanks for a memorable visit – we shall be back I’m sure.”
“Thank you so very much for the excellent NFUCGS Captain’s Day that our NFUCGS Captain Steven Hudspith and everyone enjoyed at Lindrick on Monday. We could not have wished for a more hospitable welcome and professionalism. The course proved an excellent challenge for many – pity about the rain but nothing could detract from the superb course and clubhouse. Thank you again for a wonderful day.”
“Just short message to thank you and all of the staff and members at your beautiful golf course for making our day so memorable, you could not have been more welcoming. Special thanks to Luke for his friendly and helpful manner, and the catering staff for their patience throughout the day. Your course, as always was in superb condition and a real treat to play, please pass on my thanks to your green staff.”
“On behalf of The Professional Golfers’ Association, I would like to thank all the staff at Lindrick Golf Club for your support in hosting the Lombard Trophy PGA National Pro-Am Championship Regional Final for 2014. Lindrick Golf Club was an excellent host for this year’s event and the golf course was presented to us in immaculate condition. It was fantastic to be able to come to an Ex-Ryder Cup venue and it certainly didn’t disappoint.”
“We had a great day. Always a special venue and your staff are terrific, we were looked after everywhere we turned… A very slick operation.”
“Just a quick note from myself and Cookridge Hall Golf Club 8-15 Lions. I would just like to thank Lindrick GC for a very enjoyable day which all of our section enjoyed fully. The staff course and food were superb.”
“Just a quick thank you for your hospitality yesterday, there was nothing that could be faulted. If you could pass my thanks on to all of your staff & I look forward to seeing you all again soon.”
“Just a quick word to say thank you to everyone who made us so welcome at Lindrick on Monday. Yes, we won a prize, but the real joy was to play the course which was exceptional, and to enjoy the facilities. Its been a few years since I last played at Lindrick so I was delighted to see the improvements (practise area) whilst the course has only subtly altered and its condition, as always, was second to none. My partner had never played the course and described it as the best course he’s ever played. (18 months ago we played Turnberry Ailsa together.)”
“Just returned to Cleveland last night after an absolutely glorious trip in Yorkshire and Lancashire. I played 10 rounds of golf in 10 days on 8 different golf courses (Clitheroe three rounds) without a single drop of rain and mostly in short shirt sleeves! How amazing is that. I played some great courses; West Lancs, Alwoodley, Lancaster, Fairhaven, Hillside, and Fleetwood. But the overall best feeling I had was at Lindrick. The traditional dining room in coat and tie and warmth of everyone I met was truly special and memorable. Thank you!”
“Thank you for the warm welcome extended by yourself and your staff on Thursday 15th August 2013. The course certainly lived up to our expectations and all 8 of us thoroughly enjoyed the day and all look forward to our next visit to Lindrick GC. when I envisage the numbers may increase. I am happy to report that the bar staff, greens staff, Pro shop staff and of course the friendly and attractive office staff that we encountered all excelled themselves with their politeness and service.”
“I would like to pass on my thanks to all the staff at Lindrick for making The 1836Tour event run so well. All the players were very impressed with the way the course played and the condition it was in. Despite our highest turnout for the year, Karl Sheppard from Renishaw Park was the only player to break par with a 70 beating Andrew Oldcorn, Paul Wesselingh and many other Challenge Tour players who are playing in Madrid this week. A great testament to the quality and reputation of the golf course.”
“A number of us – mostly from Collingtree Park in Northampton had the privilege of playing your course yesterday. Summary – Magnificent breakfast. Lovely course and great condition. Greens.. Wow! How do your members manage? They were tricky… and then a bit. I wish you were about 100 miles further south.”
“The majestic clubhouse and friendly welcome from members and staff increases one’s appetite for the course. Not overly long, but with plenty of roll on the ball, even in the recent wet conditions, the course is a delight. Its varied holes are maintained and presented to the highest standards. On completion of your round you can enjoy the delights of the wood-panelled dining room, or the more relaxed atmosphere of the Ryder Cup room.”
“Three of Yorkshire’s finest golfing venues – Ganton Moortown and Lindrick will host the Lexus Yorkshire Challenge this September, a three-day Stableford competion designed to showcase the golfing splendours of the White Rose county….The plan is to grow the event into an annual competition, with golfers enticed back by the quality, charm and all-round experience of Yorkshire’s three brilliant Ryder Cup courses.”
“Lindrick has been a wonderful host & venue for the Regional Qualifying for The Open Championship from 2008. The course has always been in excellent condition as well as providing a fitting & challenging test for the players. More than that, the members of the Club have always supported the event extremely well. This has helped all the players & The R&A feel most welcome & has provided that sense of atmosphere which made each event feel as though it really was the ‘start’ of The Open.”
“Whilst the weather was against us your ground staff did a splendid job in preparing the course. We were extremely well looked after in the clubhouse & given every assistance to ensure the smooth running of the Yorkshire Union Amateur Championship yet again.”
“Lindrick’s wonderful heathland course is a real star, winding its way through some lovely scenery and providing a tough but fair test of your game. With the impressive clubhouse acting a backdrop to the 201 yard, well bunkered par 3 to finish the experience, you really know you have been tested at Lindrick.”
“Lindrick delivers whatever the weather! This was certainly the case in one of the wettest weeks of the year for our Golf Guide Tour, but at Lindrick play continued just like any other spring day. Lindrick is a firm favourite, a venue now fixed on the Golf Guide Tour.”
“Lindrick GC is superb test of golf no matter what time of year you play. The layout of the course is superb and you can immediately see why it has and continues to be host to regional and national competitions. With fast, undulating and true greens, approach shots in are key (as therefore is choosing the right club off the tee!). The reception from the members and staff made you feel more than welcome and it is most certainly a Club to put on the list of those that must be visited again.”
“The beautiful course has several holes which are not only a real challenge but also visual masterpieces which one does not have to play to appreciate. The wild environment that encloses the course is in sharp contrast to the well manicured fairways and greens. The Ryder Cup room was full of interesting pictures and memorabilia to study whilst nibbling on a beautiful serving of fish and chips that was so good it has to be classified as food for the soul.”
“Thanks to its enviable year-round fantastic condition, Lindrick is a course that is always playable no matter what the weather.”
“Lightning fast greens that run true, undoubtedly the fastest greens in Yorkshire.”
“Despite my hard round and some good and poor shots I was in golfing heaven at Lindrick. Everything was as it should be. I could have been on the European Tour, in fact if Mr. Westwood had been there I would have taken him on!”
“As a visitor to Lindrick last week I would like to comment on how well we were received and treated by firstly the organisers of the event but also the members. The course played fantastic but although we didn’t win the event our team had a day to remember backed up by an excellent meal served by friendly staff along with a few pints served by a very patient barman called Michael.”
“I was lucky to have the opportunity to play your golf course for a second time last week and felt compelled to provide you some feedback on my latest visit. I do not think that I have played either a finer layout or a golf course in better condition for some time. In addition to your excellent course, we enjoyed some well deserved refreshments in the 19th and were made to feel very welcome and from both your members and staff. A first class day, many thanks.”
“Lindrick Golf Club. The home of Lee Westwood. Simply stunning and another ex Ryder Cup Course. Wish we had played 2 rounds there. Food/drinks excellent and very affordable. Pro was helpful. First class conditions. This is one of the best and most enjoyable inland courses in The British Isles. Go There!”
“We were treated like VIP’s throughout the day, with Paula (Pro Shop) & Sarah (Catering) making sure we had everything we needed in the clubhouse. It was a real test of golf, the course was in magnificent condition & the greens were fantastic, amongst the best I have ever played on, fast but very true, I’ll be back to take on the challenge again. No question about this being a top 100 course, but in terms of value it has to be in the top 10!”
