Lindrick's Sam Rook continued his fine run of form by winning the Yorkshire Amateur Championship  on the demanding test offered by Ganton's challenging track. Sam's first two rounds of 70 & 72 gave him a narrow lead on the field going into the 36 hole last day test. A third round 75 kept him in contention before he turned up the heat with a final round of 68 to lift the trophy by a 3 shot margin for a one over par score of 285.

The win caps a purple period for Sam who set a new course record of 62 at Rotherhan in the Lee Westwood Trophy when finishing in third spot and he also won the David Frame Trophy for being the leading player in the English Amateur Championship in the strokeeplay section at Formby.
